Willie & Lacrecia McRae

Lacrecia McRae was born in the historic town of Charleston, S.C. on January 4, 1962. At the age of three, her family relocated to Brooklyn, New York where her mother quickly learned that the fast pace of the big city life was not for a growing teenager. At the age of fourteen, her mother relocated her back to Charleston to reside with her grandparents, who raised her until she was a mature young adult. Her grandparents infused in her a strong religious foundation, teaching her to lean on her faith and to trust in God. This resulted in her membership with Bethel A.M.E. church at an early age. Her faith in Christ led her to her soul mate, retired SFC Willie C. McRae. Their union surpassed the stress and demands of the United States Army, dedicating 21 years of total active duty service. Through this union, they have five children and 11 grandchildren that they cherish deeply.

Butter’s Love Home Child Care was a stepping stone of faith when Lacrecia’s first grandchild was born 16 years ago. At this point she decided to forgo her full time job and to stay home to care for her new grandbaby. She would soon learn that she would be blessed with a granddaughter and instantaneously started calling her “Butter”. This name would stick with her even after birth. While staying home caring for Butter, Lacrecia’s spirit told her to expand the everlasting love she had for Butter to other children, as she understood there was a need for quality childcare within the community. By expanding and sharing her love, she soon realized “Butter’s Love” would be the perfect fit, hence the birth of “Butter’s Love Home Childcare Center”.

Lacrecia has successfully obtained her Child Development Associate, along with maintaining CPR certification and is constantly attending continuing educational courses to ensure she’s up to date with the latest practices. After 13 years of being the owner and operator of Butter’s Love Home Childcare Center, God has directed another path. Currently, the new journey has allowed me to teach pre-kindergarten to four year old children at Tabernacle Christian School. Working at Tabernacle Christian School for two years has given me the opportunity to give back to the school that Butter transitioned too. This position has allowed me to gain additional experience as an educator. I have had the pleasure of working with standardized state testing and proving that I have the ability to help students surpass the recommended requirement. My students have tested well above the kindergarten level for the past two years. My faith has lead me on a path of absolute greatness and I believe that God will allow for nothing less. My loyalty and beliefs have transferred to my students. I believe that we are to train up a child in the way he should go and he shall not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).

God has now placed a new venture in my heart. I am inspired to continue my initial path by creating a new environment for growth, “Butter’s Love Academy for Early Learning LLC.” My vision is to create an environment to mold children academically with Godly character. Parents need to be reassured that their children are being raised with the same moral compass and spiritual foundation that they to work to instill in them. My Academy will provide an excellent educational experience, to include a structured weekly curriculum that will cater to the needs of the individual child, as well as the group, just as I have proven with Tabernacle Christian School. My goal is to bring the meaning of family to my center and back to the community. I put the Lord first in all that I do and with him, nothing is impossible. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it; Love thy neighbor as thyself. (Matthew 22: 37-39).

Ms. Tiffany - Substitute Instructor

Ms. Tiffany is a self proclaimed Army brat having been born in New York and lived in several other places in the country. Eventually her family settled in Clarksville, Tennessee. She has known all her life that children would play a large part in her future and career choices. Now that she is the mother of a seven year old son, she is even more fascinated by children and watching them learn and discover the world. Though she has held many different jobs, when a friend asked her to care for her three children, Ms. Tiffany was back in her comfort zone; especially having grown up in a large family with many nieces and nephews. Children are our future and Ms. Tiffany knows that we are their biggest supporters and cheerleaders. Over the last few years, she has taken many training courses including: CPR, First Aid Certification, directors training courses, establishing positive relationships training, and continuous professional development training. Ms. Tiffany is a great substitute for Butters Love Academy

Mr. Storm

Mr. Storm is originally from Jackson, Tennessee and moved to Clarksville so that he could attend Austin Peay State University. Athletics have been his life throughout school where he played both basketball and football. Basketball was always his passion. He was offered scholarships to play at different colleges during his senior year. He struggled with the decision since he had a daughter on the way. As soon as he held his baby, he knew that his decision had been made: he would stay and be the family man that she needed. Even though he had the love of his fiance and daughter, he was still sad to not be playing basketball any more. After talking to his mentor, who had been his coach and a fatherlike figure in his life, he decided that he would go to school to become a teacher so that he could coach. He moved his family to Clarksville in 2015, where his fiance quickly found a job at Butter’s Love Academy. Her passion for caring for children has rubbed off on him and he now loves it as much as she does. Now when he isn’t at school he is able to work at Butter’s Love Academy where his love for teaching children continues to grow.

Ms. Jasmin

Ms. Jasmin is originally from Jackson, Tennessee. There she grew up in a neighborhood surrounded by family. Though she was raised in church, she didn’t realize how important her relationship with God was until she had a health scare in the 10th grade. Instead of trying a new medicine that her doctors were unfamiliar with, her family decided to place her health in God’s hands. It was during this time that her relationship with God was cemented; she knew and felt his love for her. Jasmin always felt she had a calling to work with children and began taking classes on child development. She is amazed by the learning process in children. She began volunteering as a cheerleading coach, and working for her aunt’s in-home daycare where she was responsible for lesson plans, teaching, and decorating the children’s rooms. After the birth of her daughter, something the doctors told her would never happen, she brought her to the daycare with her every day. Now she is in school for dentistry and hopes to open a pediatric dental office one day. After getting engage to her daughter’s father, they moved to Clarksville where she began the hunt for a great daycare for her daughter to attend and place for her to work. This is when she found Butter’s Love Academy. After meeting with the owner, she felt in her heart that this is where she needed to be.

Ms. Caren

Ms. Caren is originally from Mexico City, Mexico. She is married to Anthony Smith, with whom she raised one son with and now has three lovely grandchildren to spoil. She has many passions, including fashion, crafts and working with children. Aside from raising her own child, she has ten years experience as a childcare professional. She continues to be fascinated by a child’s early learning abilities. She strongly believes that an early bilingual education will provide an abundance of great opportunities for a child’s future.

Ms. Elizabeth

Ms. Elizabeth was born in Dominican Republic and moved to New Jersey when she was ten years old. In June of 2014, she moved to Clarksville, Tennessee for a better life and better opportunities for her family. She has two wonderful sons who are the love of her life and a blessing from God. Not long after moving to Clarksville, God gave her the opportunity to become a part of the Butter’s Love Academy family. Her job is a blessing to her as she has a passion for caring for children.

Ms. Crystal

Ms. Crystal is a South Carolina native who married her high school sweetheart, Shayne. Shortly after her marriage, God blessed the happy couple with their first child. Shayne was stationed at Fort Campbell and God led Crystal to Butter’s Love Academy. Aside from being a stay at home mom, she also cared for her nephew and nieces. Crystal has always known that teaching and caring for young children would be something she would enjoy doing. Becoming a teacher is something that she loves and looks forward to everyday.

Granny Rosalinda

Granny Rosalinda moved to Clarksville in late 2014 with her daughter and church. Although Granny Rosalinda has worked with children for over twenty years, she didn’t intend to get a job upon moving here. She planned to work for God in her church, The House of Prayer Christian Church. Granny Rosalinda lives close to Butter’s Love Academy, and knew that she would one day work there. When she began looking for employment, she prayed for God’s guidance and he lead her to Butter’s Love Academy. As soon as Granny Rosalinda walked in, she had goosebumps and could feel the love and the Holy Spirit within. Granny Rosalinda was immediately offered a position, for which she is thrilled. She knows that it was God who sent her to Butter’s Love Academy.
